ISSFT teacher interacting with student

Coding and AI

Overview

An introductory to intermediate-level class for students interested in artificial intelligence, coding, computer science and digital technology.

At ISSFT, our AI, Computer Science and Coding class for teenagers introduces students to programming, artificial intelligence and digital innovation. Through engaging, hands-on learning, students explore programming logic, coding languages, animation and how AI-powered technologies work and can be used responsibly.

Students gain practical coding experience using languages such as Python, HTML and CSS. They learn how to plan, write and develop code through creative projects that may include game design, app development, virtual reality and robotics. Students can also explore the connection between software and hardware by programming physical devices.

Designed to make coding accessible and enjoyable, the course develops practical skills in problem-solving, critical thinking, teamwork and communication. It also introduces students to STEM subjects and the future study and career opportunities emerging within technology and artificial intelligence.

Students are encouraged to bring their own laptops so they can continue developing their projects after the course. Equipment can be provided with advance notice.

Future-Ready Skills Through Coding

Our engaging, accessible classes make coding enjoyable while breaking down barriers to learning. Students develop practical, real-world skills that will benefit them in future study, careers and an increasingly technology-driven world.

As AI transforms how we learn, work and communicate, understanding technology is becoming an essential skill. Teenagers are already confident users of phones, apps and social media; this course encourages them to look beyond the screen and understand how these technologies work, how AI systems use data, and how digital tools can be developed and used responsibly.

Computer science teaches students how to approach complex challenges by breaking them into manageable steps. Through individual and collaborative projects, ISSFT students strengthen their creativity, communication, critical thinking and problem-solving skills—valuable abilities for future study and careers in every field, not only technology.
